Our unique patented UP:SCALE growing frame system, and IN:GEAR two-speed drive system, allow you to easily transform the bike from a lightweight balance-bike, into a super-small pedal bike, then into a larger pedal bike as your child grows. The PINTO really is three bikes in one – replacing a separate balance bike, and two conventional 12” and 14” bikes.
Your child doesn’t need to ‘grow into it’ - with the Pinto, you ‘dial’ it down to fit them properly from the start, then as they grow and get stronger, the bike grows and develops with them. It fits better and lasts longer than any other kids’ bike. (See here for sizing help.)

Pinto Size & Modes
The PINTO rolls on 14” wheels and is the smallest bike in the Black Mountain EPOK range and is aimed at children from around 3 years old, fitting those in the 90cm to 109cm height range, or until they are around 5 years old (depending on growth rate.) The PINTO can be ridden by taller or confident 2.5 year olds, if they are already balance biking confidently. This makes it the ideal starter bike for kids transitioning from a mini balance bike. MODE 1
PINTO starts life as a small lightweight balance bike, which is ideal for your child to learn on. This offers them the chance to gain confidence, getting used to the bike’s geometry, brakes and riding position before they transfer to the first pedal bike mode.
MODE 2
When ready, you simply install the included PowerPack – our neat upgrade that brings into play the cranks, pedals and our unique lightweight, oil free drive belt, transforming the balance bike into a small pedal bike. The small frame with a short wheelbase and ‘reach’, low saddle height and easy low geared pedalling allows the PINTO in this mode to be more like a conventional 12” bike, so smaller riders can get on the bike safely and easily, and earlier than with a normal bike.
MODE 3
Then as your child grows in size and confidence, you simply adjust the UP:SCALE frame and IN:GEAR system (see here for how this works) to transform the PINTO into a large pedal bike, which increases the frame size and gearing by about 20%, making the most of the easy rolling 14” wheel size, and lasting your child for longer.

Jede BikeBox enthält ein PowerPack – das ist alles, was du brauchst, um dein Laufrad zu einem Tretmodell aufzurüsten. Das PowerPack enthält ein Sattelrohr, Kurbeln, Pedale und Antriebsriemen, alles in einer praktischen kleinen Box. Die kannst du sicher verstauen, bis dein Kind bereit ist durchzustarten.ENTHALTENES WERKZEUG
Du benötigst nicht viele Werkzeuge, um dein Bike einzustellen und anzupassen, aber wir packen alles mite in, was du brauchst. Es ist kinderleicht und nicht schwieriger, als ein Loch im Reifen zu flicken.MINIMALER MONTAGEAUFWAND
Die Bikes werden zu 90% fertig montiert und im Laufrad-Modus* geliefert, du musst nur noch den Lenker und das Vorderrad anbringen, den Sattel einstellen und los geht’s.
