This will be our third Black Friday.
To be honest, we've never really ‘got it’, but being an online company we've felt we’ve had to take part, albeit in a small way. Two years ago we offered free shipping (that was when we still charged for Standard delivery) and last year we offered free Priority or Scheduled shipping.
This year, however, things are a bit different. Despite the challenges of 2020, we’ve worked really hard to keep our prices as stable and as low as possible.
We’re also conscious that we make products for children, so we believe that anyone who buys a Black Mountain should pay the same price as anyone else – at whatever time of year they buy. Whether it be for a birthday in February, a new bike for the summer holidays, or as the biggest and best box under the Christmas tree!
So, with all that considered it just makes no sense - and doesn’t seem fair - to jack prices up one month, only to discount the next.
We also don't want to make promises that we can't keep, so given our stock levels and small team, we've decided not to run any form of Black Friday/Cyber Monday shipping promotions this year. We are still taking orders well in time for Christmas and most of our bikes go out with free delivery so we’re going to keep focussing on that.
By doing this, we'll be able to maintain the customer service levels we're proud of as well as keeping our pricing promise to customers who ordered from us last week or last month. So, it just feels right.
To our existing customers, thank you for your on-going support. And to our soon-to-be customers, I hope this doesn't deter you!
Thanks as always
Andy and the team
