PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Cookie Consent: When you first visit us, we'll tell you about our cookies and ask you to agree if we can use them. If you agree to our use of cookies at this stage, we take this as clear consent to us using cookies, and you understand that should you wish to revoke your permission, you will need to adjust your browser settings accordingly.

What do I need to know about cookies?

A cookie is a small amount of information that’s downloaded to your computer or device when you visit certain websites. We use a number of different cookies on the our website, including strictly necessary, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. Cookies make your browsing experience better by allowing the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login and region selection). This means you don’t have to re-enter this information each time you return to the site or browse from one page to another. Cookies also provide information on how people use the website, for instance whether it’s their first time visiting or if they are a frequent visitor

You can change your cookie settings at any time and you can find out how to stop your browser tracking your info here.

In May 2012, the EU Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations came into force in the UK. The regulations make it clear that all UK websites need to gain consent from people visiting the site to store 'cookies' on their computers. In May 2018, these regulations have been enhanced under the EU’s GDPR regulations. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent cookies being stored, however if you do turn cookies off this will limit the service that we are able to provide to you.  If you wish to change your cookie settings or block cookies altogether please see www.aboutcookies.org.

There are different types of cookies:

First-party cookies: These cookies are set by the website you’re visiting. And only that website can read them.

Third-party cookies: These cookies are set by someone other than the owner of the website you’re visiting. Some Black Mountain web pages may also contain content from other sites like YouTube or Flickr, which may set their own cookies. Also, if you share a link to a Black Mountain page, the service you share it on (for example, Facebook) may set a cookie on your browser. We have no control over third-party cookies - you can turn them off, but not through us.

How long do cookies last?

The length of time that a cookie remains on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies last until you stop browsing and persistent cookies last until they expire or are deleted. Most of the cookies we use are persistent and will expire between 30 minutes and two years from the date they are downloaded to your device.

How do I control my cookies and tracking?

When you first visit us, we'll tell you about our cookies and ask you to agree if we can use them. If you agree to our use of cookies at this stage, we take this as clear consent to us using cookies, and you understand that should you wish to revoke your permission, you will need to adjust your browser settings accordingly. Stopping all cookies might mean you can't access some Black Mountain services, or that some of them might not work properly for you. Another way to control some tracking is in the settings on your device.
